I make things I want to see in the world. Some become tools, some become spaces, some become stories.

Most start as a personal question I can‘t ignore.

My Why

Hi, I’m Yasmina Haryono. I spent most of my career building digital products, teams and businesses. I was good at it, and for a long time I really enjoyed it. But eventually I became disillusioned with the tech industry and, more importantly, less interested in giving most of my time to someone else’s priorities.

I still love making things and solving problems. So instead of looking for the next job, I’m following the things that feel useful to me and hopefully to other people too. I’m also giving myself permission to make things without knowing whether they’ll make money, scale, or even work.

Mimping is where those projects live.

“Mimping” sounds made up

What?

Mimping is a mash-up of mimpi (the Indonesian word for dream) + -ing (the English “always doing”).

It’s a nod to my heritage and my personality because I’m always dreaming up new things and actually building them.

Mimping = dreaming in progress.
